These terms apply when you use Aangan Stay on the website or in the app, as a guest or as a host. Please read them with the Cancellation Policy and, if you host, the Host Terms.

1. Who we are

Aangan Stay is a technology platform operated by Meera Stay India Private Limited(CIN U55101HR2026PTC151172, GSTIN 06AAVCM5796R1Z1, registered office 223/8 Krishna Colony, Bhiwani, Haryana 127021), referred to in this document as "Aangan", "we", or "us". The platform helps travellers in India ("guests") book short stays in homes listed by hosts ("hosts").

Aangan is an intermediary as defined in section 2(1)(w) of the Information Technology Act, 2000. We do not own, operate, manage, or control the homes listed on the platform. The contract for a stay is between the guest and the host. Aangan facilitates the listing, search, booking and payment but is not party to that contract except as a payment collector under section 194-O of the Income Tax Act.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be 18+ to use Aangan.
  • You must be a resident of India, or a foreign national lawfully staying in India.
  • Before you book or host you verify a mobile number and an email address. You can sign in with your mobile number, your email and a password, or Google.

3. Bookings

Each host chooses how their listing is booked, and the listing shows which one applies before you pay:

  • Instant booking. Your booking is confirmed as soon as your payment is received.
  • Request to book. You pay, and the host has up to 24 hours to accept or decline your request (less if your check-in is sooner; the deadline is shown on your booking). Your booking is confirmed when the host accepts. If the host declines, or does not answer by the deadline, you are refunded in full automatically. Until the host accepts, you can withdraw the request from your trip page and get a full refund.

If a confirmed booking cannot be honoured, the guest receives a full refund.

The total price shown at checkout is inclusive of GST (CGST + SGST/UTGST for intra-state, IGST for inter-state) and the host's cleaning fee. Aangan charges guests no service fee; there are no further charges payable to Aangan.

4. Cancellation & refunds

Cancellations are governed by the Cancellation Policyand Refund Policy. The default policy applies unless the host has chosen a different policy and disclosed it on the listing page.

5. Host responsibilities

Hosts agree separately to the Host Terms. In summary hosts must (a) have lawful right to list the property, (b) provide accurate information and photos, (c) honour confirmed bookings, (d) comply with local municipal, hospitality and tax law, (e) maintain the safety standards prescribed by Aangan, and (f) submit to KYC under sections 6 and 7 of the Host Terms before receiving payouts.

6. Guest responsibilities

  • Behave lawfully and respectfully toward the host, the property and the neighbourhood.
  • Carry valid government photo ID — police regulations in many Indian states require hosts to record guest details at check-in.
  • Leave the property in the condition you found it, and pay for damage you or your visitors cause (see "Damage to the property" below).

Damage to the property

  • Your responsibility. You must leave the property, including its fixtures, furniture, electronics and appliances, in the condition you found it. You are responsible for damage, loss or destruction caused by you or by anyone you bring or invite during your stay. Ordinary wear and tear is not damage.
  • Tell the host straight away. If something breaks or is already damaged when you arrive, message the host in the app the same day, with a photo. It protects you from being blamed later.
  • The host's inspection window. A host has 48 hours after your checkout to report damage or missing items from the booking, with photos or video and the cost to repair or replace. A claim made after that, or without evidence, is not accepted.
  • Your reply. You are told at once and can see the host's photos and the amount on your booking. You have 48 hours to accept it or dispute it with your own account and photos.
  • If you dispute it, or do not reply. Aangan reviews both accounts and decides whether an amount is owed: in full, in part, or not at all. Not replying is not treated as agreeing, but the review then goes ahead without your side. You are given the decision and the reasons.
  • Paying. An amount you accept, or that we decide is owed, is paid by you directly to the host within 7 days. Your booking shows where to pay and lets you mark it as paid. Aangan does not take money from your account.
  • If you do not pay. After 7 days you cannot make new bookings on Aangan until the amount is settled.
  • No cap. Your responsibility for damage is the actual, reasonable cost of repair or replacement. It is not limited to the price of your booking or to any deposit.
  • Your rights. Our decision applies on the platform. It does not stop you or the host from going to a consumer forum, the police or a court, and we provide identity and booking details on a lawful request. We may remove an account that has caused serious damage.

Security deposits

Aangan does not currently collect or hold a security deposit, and no host is allowed to demand one from you in cash or outside the platform. If we introduce deposits, the amount will be shown on the listing before you book, and these terms will be updated with how it is held, when it is released and how deductions are made before any deposit is taken from you.

7. Payments & TDS

We collect the booking amount and remit the host's share (the room amount and cleaning fee, minus any applicable refund) less Aangan's host fee (15.5%, or 8% on a booking through the host's own link), 18% GST on that fee, and 0.1% TDS under section 194-O of the Income Tax Act, 1961. The deducted TDS is deposited with the Government of India and reflected in the host's Form 26AS. Hosts may claim credit when filing their annual return.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, Aangan's aggregate liability arising out of any booking is limited to the fee Aangan retained on that booking. Aangan is not liable for indirect, consequential, special or punitive damages.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for fraud or for breach of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

9. Disputes

We try first to resolve disputes through the Help centre and our Grievance Officer (section 11). If a dispute is not resolved within 30 days, it shall be referred to arbitration by a sole arbitrator appointed by mutual agreement of the parties, or failing agreement, in accordance with section 11 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The seat of arbitration is New Delhi, the language is English, and Indian law governs these terms. Subject to this clause, courts at New Delhi have exclusive jurisdiction.

Consumers retain their statutory right to approach the District / State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top changes when we do. Material changes are announced by email and in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect.

11. Grievance Officer

Under the Information Technology Act, 2000, the rules made under it, and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, our Grievance Officer is:

Sudhir Jindal, Director
223/8 Krishna Colony, Bhiwani, Haryana 127021
Email: support@aanganstay.com (write "Grievance" in the subject)

We acknowledge every complaint within 48 hours and work to resolve it within 15 days of receiving it. Please include your booking ID, if any, and what you would like us to do.
