Homestays for Ram Mandir darshan, with a family to host you

Ayodhya, on the banks of the Saryu, is the birthplace of Lord Ram and one of India's most visited pilgrimage towns. Stay in a family home near the temple, have an early darshan before the crowds, and spend the evening at the river.

Why stay in Ayodhya

  • Ram Mandir

The Ram Mandir at Ram Janmabhoomi is the reason most visitors come. Mornings are usually calmer; your host can tell you the current darshan timings and what you may carry inside.

  • Hanuman Garhi and Kanak Bhawan

By tradition, pilgrims visit Hanuman Garhi before the Ram Mandir. Kanak Bhawan, a short walk away, is known for its richly decorated idols of Ram and Sita.

  • Evenings on the Saryu

Ram ki Paidi and the Saryu ghats are lit up at dusk, with an aarti every evening. During Deepotsav at Diwali the ghats are covered in lakhs of lamps.

Good to know

How far in advance should I book?

For ordinary weekdays a few days is usually enough. For Ram Navami, Diwali and long weekends, book several weeks ahead — homes within walking distance of the temple fill first.

How do I reach Ayodhya?

Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhya Dham, has flights from major cities, and Ayodhya Dham Junction is the main railway station. Lucknow is about 135 km away by road.

How do I avoid fake booking websites?

Book and pay only on Aangan Stay. Every host has verified their identity with Aadhaar and PAN, your payment is made on the platform by UPI or card, and you get a GST invoice. Never pay an advance to a personal phone number or a link sent on WhatsApp.

Are prices on Aangan Stay all-inclusive?

The nightly price you see already includes GST, and guests pay no service fee. If a host charges a one-time cleaning fee, it is shown before you pay — nothing is added at checkout.
