Which area should I stay in?
Stay near Assi Ghat or Dashashwamedh Ghat to walk to the river and the aarti. Homes in the lanes of the old city cannot be reached by car, so ask the host how far the nearest drop-off point is — useful if you are travelling with elders.
How do I reach Varanasi?
Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport (VNS) at Babatpur is about 25 km from the ghats. Varanasi Junction (Cantt) and Banaras station are the main railway stations, with direct trains from most large cities.
How do I avoid fake booking websites?
Book and pay only on Aangan Stay. Every host has verified their identity with Aadhaar and PAN, your payment is made on the platform by UPI or card, and you get a GST invoice. Never pay an advance to a personal phone number or a link sent on WhatsApp.
